Here’s what I’d look for:
1. Cost: Tech sales bootcamps don’t guarantee you a job (even if some say they do—more on that later). Because of this, I’d avoid paying more than $350.
There’s no reason to spend 350 or more if you’re not 100% sure tech sales is the right career for you.
On the other hand, free or super cheap (less than $30) bootcamps might be outdated or low-quality, which wastes your time. Look for a program that balances cost and value.
2. Up-to-Date Content: Make sure the bootcamp teaches modern sales foundations, tech sales strategies and selling in the age if AI from industry experts. These skills should help you stand out and stay relevant in 2025 and beyond.
If the program doesn’t mention this on their website or during a call, it might not be worth your time. Avoid bootcamps that teach outdated methods or use lazy, ChatGPT-generated content just to make money.
3. Do They Offer a Community?

Having a support system of classmates, mentors, and an alumni network can be incredibly valuable—not just while you're in the program, but throughout your entire tech sales career.

While certifications can be nice to show off on LinkedIn, the quality of the education matters more. I'm a big advocate for continuous learning and professional development, but I feel too many people chase certifications instead of focusing on developing real skills.
That said, a certification can help boost your credibility, so it’s still worth considering.
Beware of “Pay-After-You-Get-a-Job” Programs.
Some bootcamps market themselves as “risk-free” by letting you pay after you land a job or offering a refund if you don’t. But read the fine print! Many still require a non-refundable fee of $500 or more just to enroll.
Then, once you get a job, you could owe $2,000–$5,000+, which comes straight out of your paycheck.
And if they promise to refund your money if you don’t land a job? That non-refundable $500 is gone forever, leaving you right back where you started.
Also, these types of bootcamps are incentivized to place you in a job as quickly as possible—regardless of whether the company offers good culture, fair pay, or strong benefits.
Instead, look for affordable, high-quality tech sales bootcamps that truly focus on helping you succeed—without trapping you in a financial commitment that could cost you more in the long run.
