Every job will need some experience. You either get the experience before you land a job or during on-the job training. So, what are those jobs that you can land, that will pay you very well, where you’re able to acquie experience at home in 100 days or less. In this article, we’ll discuss 5 high-paying jobs that don’t require years of experience to land.
A software sales representative, lead development (LDR) or business development (BDR) sell. An account executive or someone selling in the field typically have some sales experience (greater than 1 year), but that’s where LDR and BDRs come in. If you’re starting out with zero experience, I recommend taking a 8 to 12 week program that will introduce you to selling software. Do not take some online, in-demand video only type course. Whatever course you choose, make sure it teaches you proper selling techniques. Here at upskillible.com, we’re a big fan of value-based selling. Selling on value versus sleazy sales techniques or empty questions that drives no value to whomever you’re speaking with. So please do you due diligence before taking these types of courses online.
Once, you’ve secured some education, start applying to LDR and BDR roles. Once you’re in, you’ll get hands on experience and on the job training that could lead you into an account executive/field sales role. An account executive is more hands on with the client. Typically, a software account executive will be responsible for a territory or a number of accounts and it’s their job to land and expand their software solution offerings. Account executive roles can pay anywhere between 100k minimum to 500k+ depending on the company and territory. LDR/BDR have a cap but can still pay into the 6-figures.
Technical Sales Engineer/Pre-Sales roles are one of the best kept secret roles at technology/software companies. How do you land a job as a sales engineer/Pre-Sales without experience? Well, I know this answer very well because I landed my first sales engineer role without any experience whatsoever. The only experience I had was selling human capital management software. So there’s two ways to land a technical sales engineer role:
1. You have a background or experience with software. Whether that’s working with software at another company, selling software or you’re a software developer. If you have some hands-on experience, then you have the first part of the equation. The second part is getting the presentation, demonstration, and storytelling pieces down. Once you have both, then you can land a job as a sales engineer.
2. You have deep industry knowledge that could translate into high-level conversations during the sales cycle. Example, if you’ve worked in retail for the past 10 years, then during this time, you’ve likely interacted with software that helps engage, retain, and facilitate the customer experience. This deep industry knowledge is key and software companies recognize the value of brining someone in with this type of experience. So even though you don’t have technical experience or knowledge on the software or the sales engineer role, those can be learned on the job. Once you understand the software and how to run discovery calls and present, you’ll have everything you need to perform well on the job.
Technical sales engineers can make anywhere from min. 100k to 350k+ depending on the company and territory.
Similar to Sales Engineer or Pre-Sales, you could land an implementation consultant role if you have some hands-on software experience. So, what is an implementation consultant? They implement software. An implementation consultant will typically work for a partner of the software vendor implementing the software on behalf the customer or they will work in professional services at their company. Implementation consultants can make into the 6-figures depending on the company, territory and software they’re implementing.

A data analyst is a person who analyzes and gathers data to derive insights that can help businesses make better decisions. A data analyst's job is to gather, organize, and interpret information to facilitate decision making.
Data analysts play a vital role in virtually every industry and are employed by a range of companies including governments, non-profits, and private businesses. Data analysts work in many different settings including consulting firms, insurance companies, financial institutions, technology firms, and media conglomerates.
Data analysts are involved in all stages of the data-gathering process. They collect and define the problem to be solved, create a plan for collecting the needed data, design processes for analyzing the data once it has been gathered, and put the findings into use by presenting them to their clients or supervisors.
The job requirements for a data analyst vary depending on the company, but generally they will require an understanding of data structures, analytics, reporting, SQL or other database languages, as well as strong math skills. The good news is that there are many training programs online that teach these skills and enable applicants to land a data analyst job quickly. If you’re interested in data analysis, I’d look at the following online programs.
In conclusion, every job will require some experience. You either get that experience before or on the job. You will have to get creative if you want to land a high paying job with no experience.
